My name is Vicky Cross and I am chief waggler and walker at Vik's Wags and Walks.
I started dog walking in 2019, I added licensed dog daycare in July 2021, Licence number 23/0539/AA, and have completed practical dog training qualifications with IMDT.
I actively provide and promote force-free training methods.
I offer a dog walking service in the Parsonage Lane and surrounding areas of Bishop's Stortford.
I walk in a variety of locations from pavement walks, local parks and Birchanger Woods to more exciting adventures out in the surrounding countryside.
I am fully insured to walk dogs and provide limited dog transport services in my car - click the Protectivity logo below to view my insurance. Please enquire further regarding pet transportation restrictions.
If your pet is on home rest I can do pop ins to pets homes to provide comfort breaks, feed cats, provide enriching activities and sometimes just hang out with a friendly face for a bit of company.
Fully DBS checked.
Canine Health & First Aid Certified - Practical courses undertaken in person with the wonderful vet Sophie Bell of Animal Love
In my own family home along with our resident dog I provide licenced daycare and boarding for dogs.
East Herts Council issued my Animal Activities Licence in July 2021 and this has been renewed in 2023 with a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating - Licence number 23/0539/AA.
I offer daycare and boarding only for established dog walking clients. When caring for dogs from multiple households they must be regularly familiarised with each other beforehand so I do not offer ad hoc boarding or daycare sessions. I require at least one weekly visit or regular weekly 60 minute walk minimum to ensure familiarity, harmony within the groups and to keep all the dogs aquainted with one another, and our environment. This helps to ensure when dogs come into our home and for sleepovers that they feel calm, secure and stress free.
All who come to stay in my home become part of the family. We have a comfortable home, an exciting secure garden with a variety of surfaces, levels and areas to explore and access to wonderful woodland walks.
Dogs enjoy exploring, sniffing and running in Birchanger Woods and the surrounding fields which are easily accessible from my garden.
After exercise we all enjoy a bit of rest and relaxation, whilst feeling safe and secure. Your dog can feel at home and snooze in comfort.
All guests will need to be vetted by our resident dog !
I aim to teach dog owners and handlers force free, reward based techniques to train their puppies and dogs, using proven, ethical, and science based teaching methods.
I abide by IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Training) strict code of ethics, and I will never use or promote punishing devices or methods such as choke chains or prong collars.
I am part of a very supportive network of dog trainers and behaviourists who promote and provide force free training methods.
Please contact me for details of any of these services.
